Windows based switch configurator - oDesk

Looking to develop a windows application that will connect to Cisco switches using SNMP. Once connected it will read what ports are available, lets the user select some and then sets up a SPAN port based on the selection. The SPAN port is also configured using SNMP



The application should be available as a single file download and include an installer. Once installed it should follow these steps



1. User is asked for an IP address of a Cisco switch and RW SNMP community string

2. Application will attempt to connect to the switch and checks if its a supported model. Support models would be 6500, 4500 and 3700 series

3. App will then read what ports are available on the switch and present them as a list to the user.

4. User can then tick which ports they want to monitor

5. App will then ask what port should be selected as the SPAN port

6. Once user makes their selection this information is written back to the switch config.
