I have a job for a Programmer who can start scratch and build a complex Database that is very easy to use. It is to do with horse racing. The database will be a desktop app and needs to be able to handle at least 10gig of data.
I have attached some current data file that we will be parsing to build the DB. There are files going back 11 years, but they are all the same with very little change in structure
The database files will need to be imported – unzipped- loaded into the DB – re-zipped and stored in another file.
The database will need to be a free – open source type that needs to be very strong – have no data limits and need to be extensively queried.
I have images below show an idea of how the database is to look.
Each individual field in the DB is to be put into its own field. From the fields data will drawn and displayed. Also ratings and other information will be made from the data in the fields. All the data is to be joined eg the horses last 5 starts will all be added together to show all starts. No duplicate data is to be shown. ( Duplicates removed).
There are 3 parts to the data
Race Fields
Horses Information
Past Form
Other race data bases generally have individual files for each day instead of having 1 large db – not sure why, but I leave it to you. The database needs to be very very fast, and totally accurate .
An example of what I need created is

The physical design needs to be very fast and the look has to be easy to look at and the easy of use has to be simple.
This will be an ongoing job with future updates happening constantly
