Software Engineer - oDesk

We have an API that interfaces into a 3rd party server system, which has now run into problems.



The API is written in .net and connectes to the server using TCP/IP sockets where it sends and receives data.



The API was written by a 3rd party who is no longer contactable, but we do have the full source code for the API. We know that in order to write the API the protocol needed to be reverse engineered, and we do understand how the API works at a reasonable level.



It seems that the new version of the server software has changed the protocol in part which is now no longer compatible with the API.



We need someone to essentially fix the API, but also work in a consultative role in helping us build our applications.
