Hi,
I have made my own 1-page-Website, but need help finetuning it.
Based on this script (http://syddev.com/jquery.videoBG/) I have made a website that seems to work well in Chrome (Mac) and Safari (Mac), okay on Opera (Mac) and not at all on Firefox (Mac). I have not yet tested it on a PC.
The video in the background does not play in FF at all, or it starts and stops.
It is possible that "the classic Firefox Mime type issue" has something to do with it: www.linuxquestions.org/questions/programming-9/ogv-video-does-not-display-with-video-tag-in-firefox-3-5-a-737554/#post3595912, but I'm not sure.
I have also tried using this script (http://www.georgepaterson.com/2011/08/30/jquery-html5-video-background-1-1-1/ + https://github.com/georgepaterson/jquery-videobackground), but I like the floating white look of the first one better and am unable to combine the two.
Ideally, the wideo would run on tablets, and only phones would be redirected, but I don't know if that's possible.
* The objective is to make the video in the background run smoothly in all browsers on all systems. Obiviously, I can send you all the files, incl. the background video, to work with.
* At the same time, I want mobile users to be automatically directed to a different site, namely this one: http://http://plx.cm/r_Gi
Both should not be too difficult if one knows how to do it. ;)
Best! Ulrich
