Custom Search Engine Design for Forums/Discussion Boards - oDesk

Requirements:

- Must have good knowledge of Google CSE or another notable search engine technology/software.

- Must be well-versed in web design as our main focus is showing results in a very fashionable manner

- Must have experience with Google Ad Sense

- Experience with vbulletin and phpBB forums will be HIGHLY recognized



Brief Description:

We require a stand-alone website search engine that focuses on searching and providing results from several pre-defined websites which we will provide to you. These websites are forums and discussion boards (vbulletin, phpBB), and we need someone who is comfortable with custom search engines (especially Google Custom Search Engine).



Project:

Creating the search engine is very straight-forward and simple, so the issue is not the search part as Google CSE is easy to set-up. We have already created a Google custom search engine that shows results from these websites.



What we require is for someone to help us present the RESULTS from search queries in a better fashion. We are not sure how this will be done, you can use CSS, scripting, etc, the coding and development will be left for you to decide. However, we will provide you with what kind of results we want, (ie. what information should show up). This can be done with Google Snippets perhaps, once again, we will take your feedback on what is the best way to proceed.



Extra Details:

As mentioned, the results are what we are focusing on. The normal search results presented are very dull and boring and a lot of times, irrelevant.



We can discuss the details and our requirements with those interested in the project.
