PHP Developer - oDesk

Hi



I'm looking for a PHP developer that can help us with development / fixes on a custom CMS that we have purchased.



Basically the system uses PHP, Smarty templates and a MySQL database and we need someone to help us maintain the software and any bugs that come up.



There could potentially be upgrades to the system that we may need you to make occasionally.



I'd like to find someone that has worked on CMS applications before and has a good understanding of PHP. The code is fairly old but follows a consistent format so once you are aware of where and how the code works all the different elements and modules follow the same structure.



We will start with an initial small project and then move onto an ongoing contract to complete any issues / upgrades as they come in.



The initial project we are looking at is:



1. Moving an image manager from a front end system to the CMS Administration console.



2. Moving a member importer from the front end system to the CMS Administration contole



For both projects you will need to review the code, see which functions are contained in the library files and migrate any functions to the CMS Administration system (as required). The templates will need to be moved to the administration system and updated to ensure they are consistent with the style of the other templates.



I'd like a basic migration plan before any coding is actually done and you will need to factor in time for getting familiar with the CMS and the code.



I would also like a high level estimate on how long you think it will take you to:

1. Setup the CMS locally

2. Get familiar with the code

3. Migrate the Image / Document Manager to the Admin system

4. Migrate the Member Importer to the Admin system



We are willing to be flexible on time and price as long as you demonstrate that you understand the project and the requirements.
